- Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance unveiled a new whistleblower program offering rewards of up to $30,000 for exposing government fraud.
- The Independent reporter Andrew Feinberg questioned why whistleblowers would use the program when the historic False Claims Act offers significantly higher rewards of up to 25 percent.
- Trump struggled to answer the question, prompting Vance to intervene and label Feinberg's line of questioning as dishonest.
- “I don’t know who the hell you are, but you better be careful,” Trump said, shortly after Feinberg had introduced himself. Trump lost it completely, calling Feinberg a “sick person.” He added: “I actually think there’s something wrong with you.”
- Following the briefing, White House rapid response and Vance launched further verbal attacks against Feinberg on official government accounts.
