It’s officially that time of the year again. Santa Claus is preparing his sleigh, Mariah Carey is defrosting, and Christmas movies are ready to take over our screens for the 2025 holiday season.

Christmas movies are an integral part of the holiday season, especially the super cheesy ones with the same old tropes wrapped in new plotlines that never get old. Which is why theatres as well as streaming platforms are now showcasing several new Christmas movies of 2025, some of which are already out, while others will arrive in the coming days.

Netflix has four original holiday romcoms, each one covering a different trope. For instance, Jingle Bell Heist is an enemies-to-lovers story, and A Merry Little Ex-Mas hints at second-chance romance. Similarly, Prime Video’s Oh. What. Fun. is all about falling in love with the spirit of Christmas again.

But that’s not all. Besides these sweet romcoms, Apple TV’s The Family Plan 2, which released on 21 November, delivers an action comedy that makes for a great family watch during the holidays. Similarly, Silent Night, Deadly Night is a horror Christmas movie that fans can enjoy on the big screen in the coming days.

Now, no Christmas watchlist is complete without the holiday staple — Hallmark movies. This year, Hallmark started rolling out their Christmas specials starting in October. Some of the most anticipated upcoming titles coming out in December are Single on the 25th (7 December) and A Suite Holiday Romance (13 December).

So, clear your schedules and get some piping hot chocolate because these new Christmas movies of 2025 will douse you in the holiday spirit.
