Thomas Tuchel extends his contract as England manager through to Euro 2028, securing his leadership beyond the upcoming World Cup.

THOMAS Tuchel has signed a new contract to remain as England head coach until the end of the 2028 European Championship.

The Football Association announced the extension on Thursday, providing long-term stability beyond the 2026 World Cup.

Tuchel expressed his delight at continuing the role he began in October 2024.

“I am very happy and proud to extend my time with England,” the 52-year-old said.

“It is no secret to anyone that I have loved every minute so far of working with my players and coaches, and I cannot wait to lead them to the World Cup.”

His initial deal was set to expire after the tournament in North America.

The FA stated the new agreement offers “clarity and full focus” for the upcoming World Cup campaign.

England have enjoyed a perfect start under the German manager, winning all eight of their World Cup qualifying matches.

The contract extension appears to end speculation linking Tuchel with the vacant managerial position at Manchester United.

He had been considered a potential candidate to succeed the sacked Ruben Amorim.

By committing his future to the national team, Tuchel has effectively ruled out a post-World Cup move to Old Trafford.

The decision allows him to concentrate fully on England’s ambitions for the next two major tournaments.
