On 25 April 2023, Tun Mahathir rode the MRT SG. BULOH / PUTRAJAYA route built during Najib's era and was suitably impressed by the service. It was the third day of Hari Raya Aidilfitri. He wrote on his facebook page, Kelab Che Det.

He felt like he is in a developed nation (seolah-olah saya berada di negara maju).

He was actually impressed by the facilities provided for passengers, including lifts and escalators at all stations (stesen juga cukup besar dan dilengkapi dengan lif dan eskalator).

He believes that the "rakyat" would welcome this new service if we just ignore the extremely high cost involved" in its construction. (Saya percaya kemudahan rail ini akan disambut baik oleh rakyat jika kos yang amat tinggi tidak dipedulikan).

He ended his brief message by congratulating the management and staff of the MRT Sungai Buloh / Putrajaya who were with him throughout the journey and politely answered his questions.

However, except for his remarks on the high cost involved in its construction, he did not even acknowledge that this line was conceived and developed during Najib's premiership.

Anyway, costs aside, the service is important for daily commuters between KL to Putrajaya.

Like Tun Mahathir we too rode the train, on a different day and found the service to be excellent reminding us of equally impressive services in more developed countries, elsewhere.

Isn't it about time you take a ride on the MRT Sungai Buloh Putrajaya line?

Don't just take Tun M's words for it,  go try it yourself even if you're not his fan or his successor during whose era this service was conceived and built at a whopping cost of RM30 billion

By the way, this line does pass by Kajang where you'll get the best satay in the country and you'll get a glimpse of the prison where Najib resides for the next 12 years or so.

In case you are interested tickets for MRT Sungai Buloh Putrajaya costs RM7 for a one way trip. For more details visit: https://www. mrt.com.my/fare/
