KOTA SAMARAHAN (Nov 6): Twin sisters Nur Eryshazana and Nur Eryshazani Amirulzaki today reached a major milestone by earning their bachelor’s degrees in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (Unimas).

The 23-year-old twins expressed their excitement to contribute to the development of their home state, Sarawak, by gaining work experience and ultimately enhancing their skills through further studies.

“For me, getting hands-on work experience is essential before furthering our studies.

“I am really happy to have finished my studies and look forward to facing the next level of my life,” added Nur Eryshazana.

Echoing her sister’s enthusiasm, Nur Eryshazani expressed her eagerness to apply her knowledge in the field.

“I realise that furthering my studies is important, but like my sister, I would like to work before pursuing higher studies,” she said told reporters after the third session of the 28th Unimas Convocation Ceremony, held at Tunku Abdul Rahman Hall (DeTAR Putra) here today.

Their father, Amirulzaki Hassan, 53, who also attended the graduation ceremony, expressed his hope that his daughters would use their talents to serve Sarawak.

He said he has a strong connection to Sarawak because he is from Kampung Lintang, Kuching, and his wife Norani Mus, 50, is from Miri.

“While my family currently resides in Labuan and my children were also raised there, they were actually born in Miri. I thus hope my daughters can serve in Sarawak because there is no place like their own home state.

“With so many job opportunities emerging here, it is the perfect time for them to give back to the place where they are from,” said Amirulzaki, who is an offshore panel operator for Petronas.

In 2019, Nur Eryshazana and Nur Eryshazani had their aspirations of studying Mechanical Engineering at Unimas.

They had just completed their foundation studies in Physical Science at the time and looked forward to staying together on their educational journey, despite being in different classes.

Now that they have earned their degrees, the twins are ready to take on new challenges, as well as confident and motivated in their choice to serve Sarawak to bring meaningful contributions to their state.
