SHAH ALAM – A forest fire involving an estimated two acres of hilly forest area broke out at Lorong Gugusan 7/20, Alam Bandar Puncak Alam, today.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Ashrul Riezal Asbar said the department received a distress call at 10.06am before personnel from the Bestari Jaya Fire and Rescue Station arrived at the scene at 10.34am.
He said the fire involved a hilly forest area and firefighters were carrying out containment efforts by creating firebreaks to prevent the blaze from spreading.
“Firefighters are currently conducting firefighting operations at the location, assisted by members of the Saujana Volunteer Fire Brigade (PBS),” he said.
Ashrul said a total of four firefighters from the Bestari Jaya Fire and Rescue Station were involved in the operation, supported by one Fire Rescue Tender (FRT) vehicle.
He added that no casualties were reported in the incident. The operation to put out the fire is ongoing.
