
Kota Kinabalu: Police arrested two men and seized suspected cannabis and syabu in separate operations conducted by the Sabah Narcotics Criminal Investigation Department (NCID) on Wednesday, Info X reported.
Sabah NCID Chief Asst Comm Alhusin Halil said the first arrest involved a 24-year-old unemployed man from Keningau in Alamesra at about 12.30pm after police received intelligence on a courier parcel suspected of containing drugs.
He said the suspect took possession of the parcel, which was found to contain three packets of suspected cannabis weighing 105 grammes, while an iPhone 13 Pro believed to be linked to the case was also seized.
In a separate operation under Op Gempur Khas at about 7.50pm, police detained a 36-year-old Filipino man in the back lane behind a premises in Inanam, where a search found 10.36 grammes of suspected syabu in his possession.
Alhusin said the first suspect is being investigated under Section 39A(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, while the second suspect, who tested positive for methamphetamine and amphetamine and has two previous drug-related offences, is being investigated under Sections 39A(1) and 15(1)(a) of the same Act.
