Two men have been arrested in Shimla for allegedly assaulting a tailor from UP. On June 6, the accused identified as Madan Thakur (43) and Vijay Sharma (47) along with an unidentified woman, entered Azeem Mirza’s tailor shop in Sanjauli. They brought a minor girl to identify Mirza regarding a recent misconduct case. When the girl did not recognise Mirza, the accused allegedly attacked him and cut wires to his shop’s CCTV cameras. Mirza and his colleague were then paraded through the Sanjauli market.
Shimla SSP Gaurav Singh confirmed that the actual accused in the minor’s case was already in custody, noting that the two victims of the market assault had no involvement in the incident. Locals along with the victim girl staged a protest demanding the police to release two arrested individuals.
