TUARAN: Firefighters recovered the bodies of two men, believed to be Chinese nationals, from the ruins of the Legenda Bumimas Sdn Bhd factory fire in Telipok as operations entered their second day on Saturday.
The blaze, which began at the used-oil waste storage facility at 6.25pm on Friday, destroyed two warehouse blocks and seven oil tankers before crews managed to contain it.
The victims were found within minutes of each other on Saturday afternoon, though authorities have yet to confirm their identities pending further verification.
More than 40 firefighters from Tuaran, Kota Kinabalu and Lintas stations remain at the scene carrying out cooling work to prevent the flames from spreading to a nearby tyre factory and plank mill.
The Fire and Rescue Department said aerial operations were briefly halted due to low water pressure, while investigators continue probing the cause of the incident.
