Tuaran: Two residents were left with nothing after the workers’ house they lived in was destroyed by fire in Kampung Tambalugu, Tamparuli here, recently.
Tuaran District Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) chief, Abdul Qawie Abdul Gapar said, they received the emergency call at 11.08pm. He said, a total of nine members rushed to the scene with one machine and an Emergency Services Unit (EMRS) utility vehicle.
“Upon arriving at the location, the temporary worker’s house was 100 per cent destroyed”.
“Strong winds caused the fire to spread quickly but the occupants managed to get out in time to save themselves.
“Properties and some important documents belonging to the residents were among valuables lost,” he said.
According to him, the situation was successfully contained at midnight before ending 15 minutes later.
“The cause of the incident and the estimated losses are still under investigation,” he said.
No casualties were reported.
