PENAMPANG: Police arrested two men and seized 62.14g of suspected syabu worth an estimated RM9,400 in two separate operations here on Friday and Saturday.
Penampang Police Chief Supt Sammy Newton said the first arrest involved a 33-year-old foreign man detained outside a house at about 2.50pm on Friday, where police found 20 plastic packets containing 56.91g of suspected syabu worth about RM8,500.
He said the suspect also tested positive for methamphetamine in a preliminary urine screening, and the case is being investigated under Sections 39B and 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
In the second operation at about 12.10am on Saturday, police arrested a 40-year-old local man and found four plastic packets containing 5.23g of suspected syabu worth an estimated RM900.
Sammy said the second case is being investigated under Section 39A(1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, while both suspects were detained to assist further investigations.
