JOHOR BAHRU - Two men were killed in an accident involving a car and a lorry on Jalan Pontian Lama, near the Taman Desa Skudai roundabout, early Thursday morning.
Operations Commander from the Skudai Fire and Rescue Station (JPBM) Senior Fire Officer I Suraini Adnan said seven personnel were dispatched to the scene immediately after receiving a distress call at 12.11am.
“The accident involved a Proton Waja car believed to have collided with a 10-tonne lorry. As a result of the collision, a 43-year-old male victim was killed at the scene after being trapped inside the car.
“Another 43-year-old male was also pronounced dead, while the lorry driver, a 36-year-old man, survived without serious injuries,” he said in a statement on Thursday.
Suraini added that specialised equipment was used to extricate the trapped victim, who was then handed over to the police and ambulance for further action.
The operation concluded at 2.03am.
