Two killed in crash between car and motorcycle in Batu Kurau

Two men died after a car and motorcycle collided in Batu Kurau early this morning, with the car driver injured and taken to hospital.

BATU KURAU: Two men were killed in a collision between a Perodua Bezza and a Yamaha Ego Gear motorcycle early this morning.

The fatal accident occurred in Kampung Seri Makmur, Batu 7, near Batu Kurau.

The Perak Fire and Rescue Department received an emergency call at 1.24 am and dispatched a team from the Batu Kurau station.

Rescuers found the 26-year-old male car passenger trapped beneath the vehicle.

The 21-year-old motorcyclist had been thrown from his bike and both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

The car driver, a man in his 20s, sustained injuries in the crash.

He was rescued by bystanders before being transported to Parit Buntar Hospital for treatment.

The bodies of the deceased were handed over to police for further investigation.

The fire and rescue operation concluded at 2.50 am.
