
Two people died after a head-on collision on Jalan Serkam-Bemban near Jasin, involving a Perodua Bezza and a Proton Wira.
JASIN: Two people were killed in a head-on collision involving two cars on Jalan Serkam–Bemban yesterday evening.
Jasin District Police chief Supt Lee Robert said the victims were a 33-year-old man driving a Perodua Bezza and a 74-year-old woman, a passenger in a Proton Wira.
The Proton Wira was driven by a 44-year-old man and also carried his 40-year-old brother. Police received a report of the fatal crash at about 6.50 pm.
Preliminary investigations indicate the Perodua Bezza skidded into the opposite lane upon reaching the scene. The Proton Wira driver was unable to avoid the collision.
The Perodua Bezza driver suffered fatal internal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The elderly woman was rushed to Hospital Jasin and pronounced dead at about 9.30 pm.
The Proton Wira driver sustained injuries to his arm and body, while his brother suffered chest injuries.
