AUTHORITIES have arrested two local individuals, including a woman, following a hazardous incident in which firecrackers were set off from the sunroof of a moving vehicle along Persiaran Ficus, Section U15, Shah Alam.
Shah Alam District Police Chief Assistant Commissioner Ramsay Embol confirmed that the two suspects, aged 21 and 28, were apprehended at approximately 2.40pm in the vicinity of Sungai Buloh and Section 9.
“During the arrests, a Proton Satria car, two mobile phones, and firecrackers believed to have been used in the incident were seized to assist in our investigations,” Ramsay said in a statement on Monday.
“All individuals have been remanded for three days until Tuesday, 31 March, for further inquiries.”
The arrests follow reports that the police were seeking several suspects involved in the reckless stunt, which occurred recently in the Elmina Rainforest area.
Authorities received a report at 12.48pm yesterday after a video of the incident went viral on social media, confirming the dangerous activity had taken place.
Ramsay emphasised the seriousness of such behaviour, warning that public safety could have been severely compromised by the reckless use of explosives from a moving vehicle. - March 29, 2026
