
TAWAU: Two men suspected of intimidating money borrowers to demand repayment by splashing red paint on the victims' homes were recently arrested by the police here.
District police chief ACP Jasmin Hussin said the two local suspects, aged 29 and 31, were also alleged to have threatened to burn the victims' cars and those of their families through voice messages.
According to Jasmin, the suspects were arrested following a police report lodged by the victim, who claimed that the door and walls of his house were splashed with red paint by an unknown individual on Aug 24.
He added that the individual also left a note with a phone number, name, and the victim's identification number, instructing them to settle the debt.
