KOTA BELUD: A 14-year-old was killed when his motorcycle collided with another on Pan Borneo Highway, at Batu Gadung, Monday.
The victim sustained severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by medical officers from Kota Belud Hospital.
Kota Belud District Police Chief Supt Shahrudin Mat Husain said the other motorcyclist, an 18-year-old, was injured and taken to the same hospital for further treatment.
Preliminary investigations showed the 18-year-old was riding straight along the stretch when the younger motorcyclist attempted a U-turn on the left shoulder of the road.
Due to close proximity, the motorcycle travelling straight ahead collided with the right side of the turning motorcycle.
The victim’s body was later taken to the Kota Belud Hospital.
Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward to facilitate the investigation.
