KUANTAN: A policeman suffered injuries to his head and body after allegedly being assaulted by two Myanmar men who were reprimanded for making a noise in Kampung Pamah Kulat, Raub, early today.
Acting Pahang Police Chief Datuk Azry Akmar Ayob said the two suspects, aged 26 and 30, were detained following the incident at about 2.45 am.
He said the policeman had gone to the scene after receiving a complaint from residents that the suspects were believed to be drunk and playing loud music from a loudspeaker by the roadside.
“The policeman reprimanded the suspects, but they were dissatisfied and then assaulted the policeman,” he said in a statement today.
Azry Akmar said the policeman sustained swelling to his head and body.
He said the case is being investigated under Section 353 of the Penal Code for using criminal force against a public servant.
