ALOR SETAR - Two teachers in Kedah have been removed from Education Ministry institutions pending investigations into allegations of sexual misconduct.

The Kedah Education Department said it is currently investigating both cases.

"The department takes allegations of sexual misconduct involving two teachers in the state, as circulated on social media, very seriously.

"The department will not compromise on any form of sexual misconduct and will continue to ensure the safety and well-being of students, teachers and all members of the education community," it said in a statement today.

Screenshots of conversations between two individuals went viral on social media, allegedly involving a male teacher and a 15-year-old female student at a school in the state.

In another case, a teacher is accused of indecent behaviour and using sexually explicit language at a secondary school here. - BERNAMA
