Tyson Fury announces surprise Netflix fight against 46-year-old ex-world title challenger

  • Tyson Fury has announced he will face veteran Polish heavyweight Mariusz Wach, 46, in a tune-up fight in Pattaya, Thailand, on Friday 24 July.
  • The bout, which will be streamed on Netflix, is a preparatory fight for Fury ahead of his anticipated clash with Anthony Joshua in late 2026.
  • This fight is scheduled just one day before Anthony Joshua's own warm-up contest against Kristian Prenga in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
  • Mariusz Wach, 46, has a professional record of 39-13 and previously fought Wladimir Klitschko for a world title in 2012, but was recently knocked out by Moses Itauma in July 2024.
  • Fury, who has been training in Thailand for several months, stated his excitement for the event and his focus on preparation for what he calls a "huge second half of the year."
