UAE grants visa-on-arrival to Filipinos

MANILA, Philippines — Filipinos are eligible for the grant of a visa-on-arrival by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) if they possess valid visas from 34 countries.

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said the UAE's visa upon arrival scheme would take effect on June 25.

"The visa-on-arrival privilege extended to Filipino citizens by the UAE was in view of the excellent bilateral relations between the Philippines and the UAE," the DFA said in a statement on Wednesday.

Filipino citizens traveling to the UAE using their Philippine passports and possessing a valid visa, residence permit, or Green Card issued by any of the following countries: United States, European Union member- states, Australia, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Canada, and New Zealand, "shall be eligible for the grant of a visa-on-arrival by the UAE," the DFA said.

For those intending to stay in UAE for 14 days, they need to pay 100 AED (Arab Emirates Dirham). The visa may be extended for an additional 14 days at a fee of 250 AED.

For those wanting to stay for 60 days, they have to pay 250 AED. However, it is no longer extendable.
