Kota Kinabalu: The University Technology Mara (UiTM) Sabah Alumni Association will organise a charity golf tournament in conjunction with its 25th anniversary, targeting RM100,000 in contributions.
Organising committee member Sazali Md Salleh said the event, themed “Sustained Contributions, Supporting Students, Strengthening Infrastructure”, reflected the association’s commitment to assisting underprivileged students and supporting the development of the Laluan Menara Ilmu infrastructure.
“The programme is not just about celebrating the 25th anniversary of UiTM Sabah Alumni, but also serves as a platform to raise contributions to help underprivileged students and support the development of campus infrastructure,” he said during a courtesy visit to Deputy Chief Minister II and State Finance Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun at his office on Thursday.
Sazali, who is also the association’s deputy president, said the initiative aimed to ensure students’ welfare remained a priority while improving campus facilities for the well-being of the university community and future generations.
“We hope to receive support from alumni, the corporate sector, sponsors and the general public to achieve this goal,” he said.
The event is also expected to strengthen ties among alumni and foster a spirit of togetherness in contributing to educational development.
“The public, golfers, alumni and organisations are welcome to participate in the tournament,” Sazali said.
The Charity Golf Tournament is scheduled for Nov 21 this year, from 6.30am to 3pm at Dalit Bay Golf and Country Club.
