
- A yellow heat health alert has been extended as the UK braces for its third heatwave of 2026.
- The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) warning is in effect from midday on 4 July until 8pm on 11 July.
- The alert covers the West Midlands, East Midlands, South West, South East, London and East of England.
- The UKHSA has said that “minor impacts are likely across health and social care services”, including “greater risk to life of vulnerable people”.
- It comes as temperatures are expected to climb yet again, with highs of 29C expected in the capital on Sunday, according to the Met Office.
