Ukrainian forces destroyed a road bridge in south-eastern Ukraine linking the Russian-occupied cities of Donetsk and Mariupol, the general staff in Kiev reported on Wednesday.
"Among other things, a road bridge over the Malyi Kalchyk River was hit near Hranitne in the Donetsk region," it said without revealing the nature of the weapons used.
Images published on social media showed wreckage in the river valley to the north of the port city of Mariupol on the Sea of Azov. However, there is an alternative route by road from the north to Mariupol along the Sea of Azov.
The Kiev general staff also reported striking a rail bridge in the Luhansk region and another important crossing in the Donetsk region.
For weeks, Ukrainian forces have been systematically attacking bridges in the Russian-occupied regions of the country to disrupt the Russian military's supply routes.
Ukraine has been warding off a full-scale Russian invasion since February 2022.
