Unity Government partners agree to continue cooperation in Negeri Sembilan to ensure stability and protect public welfare
PETALING JAYA: The Umno-Pakatan Harapan (PH) Leadership Consultative Council has agreed to maintain its cooperation under the Unity Government in Negeri Sembilan.
The meeting was co-chaired by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and UMNO president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
In a joint statement today, the council said it respects the positions previously decided by the political bureaus of both coalitions regarding issues in Negeri Sembilan.
“Both parties have reached a consensus to continue their cooperation in the state to ensure political stability and safeguard the welfare of the people.”
The council also agreed that any decisions made by the Negeri Sembilan state government that may trigger sensitivities or create room for disagreement must be immediately referred to the Umno-PH Leadership Consultative Council.
The statement was issued by Pakatan Harapan secretary-general Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail and Umno secretary-general Datuk Wira Dr Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki.
