Umno youth division wants police action against Gerakan deputy president

THE Pokok Sena Umno Youth division is upset over the manner Gerakan deputy president Oh Tong Keong lambasted DAP over the government’s Islamic and Malay agendas.

Its head Mohd Farhan Ahmad said that Oh had directed a racist and inflammatory statement by questioning why DAP was silent over the issue of special Malay rights.

Oh apparently made such observations in an interview with a Chinese vernacular newspaper.

"I urge the police and the Madani government to take action.

“When (Umno Youth head) Dr Akmal Saleh speaks out, he is accused of all sorts of things.

“When it happens to your group, you are called champions of the race.

“When it happens to us, we are called destroyers of unity," said Farhan in a statement.
He also urged Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) and PAS to sever ties with Gerakan in the Opposition front of Perikatan Nasional (PN).

"The special rights of the Malays should not be questioned by anyone.

“Why are the sensitivities of the majority not taken care of and looked down upon by some?"

Farhan said that everyone should be focused on developing the country.

"The spirit of defending the constitution should be nurtured, not undermined and tainted with cheap politics."

Farhan issued this statement after Akmal reportedly  lambasted Oh for reportedly criticising DAP over its “silence” on the government’s Islamic and Malay agendas.

Akmal said that Oh should be supportive of DAP for not opposing such policies or plans instead of criticising them

“What do you really mean when you criticise DAP for being silent and not opposing Islamic policies?

“Do you intend to oppose the country’s Islamic policies?” Akmal said. - February 4, 2025.
