Kota Kinabalu: Three World University Games (WUG) bound students from Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) received incentives of RM1,500 each from the University on Monday.
The three, who qualified for the biennial games to be held in Rhine-Ruhr, Germany starting July 18 are Chelsea Cassiopea Evali Bopulas (Faculty of Psychology and Social Work), Farrel Glenn Felix Jurus (Faculty of Education and Sports Studies) and Hizilawanty Jamain (Faculty of Education and Sports Studies.
The incentive handover ceremony was officiated by UMS Vice-Chancellor Prof. Datuk Dr. Kasim Mansor at the Chancellery Building in UMS here.

Dr. Kasim said the incentives were a form of support from the university to athletes who made it to the international level, as well as a source of encouragement for other athletes on campus.
“The championship, which will last for 12 days is set to bring together university athletes from all over the world to showcase their potential on the global stage.
“We hope they will not only bring home valuable experience, but also bring glory to the country and the university,” he said.
