Germany ended their women's World Cup qualifying campaign unbeaten with a 2-0 victory in Slovenia on Tuesday.

Having already clinched their place at next year's finals in Brazil with a 2-0 win against Norway on Friday, Germany wrapped up the group action with the same scoreline in Ljubljana on the 53rd birthday of their coach Christian Wück.

Germany were not glorious but an own goal from Lara Prašnikar in the 40th and Shekiera Martinez' first national team goal in the 50th settled the affair.

"It wasn't brilliant but we got the job done rather well," Wück told broadcasters ZDF. "We should not forget at which part of the season we are. We have many players who are simply tired."

Germany finished atop their group with 16 points from five wins and a draw and are directly qualified for next year's big event. Second placed Norway finished on 12 points from a concluding 2-1 victory over Austria and enter the play-offs in autumn.
