The story behind Cristiano Ronaldo's new goal celebration has been revealed.
Ronaldo struck the winner at Everton on Sunday - the 700th goal of his career.
In celebration, instead of his typical 'Siu' taunt, Ronaldo opted for a different pose. This time the Portuguese stood with his eyes closed and his hands across his chest as if asleep and was joined by Antony.
It transpires, as revealed by United's in-house media, that the celebration was actually a self-deprecating joke. It mimicked the pose that the 37-year-old takes when he actually does fall asleep while travelling with the squad, an amusing position that hasn't gone unnoticed by his teammates.
United players posed with Ronaldo and a gifted 'Ronaldo 700' United jersey at Carrington on Monday in celebration of the striker's latest remarkable milestone.
