A THIRTY-TWO-YEAR-OLD man recently returned to his family home in Pahang decimated his own household on Tuesday morning, allegedly slaughtering his wife, mother, and two young daughters before committing suicide in a tragedy that has stunned the local community.

The horrific discovery was made at a residence in Taman Cerating Damai following a 7 a.m. distress call from a fifteen-year-old survivor who managed to escape the bloodbath unscathed.

According to Pahang Police Chief Datuk Seri Yahaya Othman, the victims included the suspect's fifty-five-year-old mother, his twenty-eight-year-old wife, and two daughters aged three and four.

Preliminary investigations suggest a frantic and violent scene, with the suspect found dead alongside his wife and children in a single bedroom, while his mother’s body was discovered separately in the kitchen area.

Authorities recovered a knife at the scene believed to be the primary weapon used in the killings.

Initial medical examinations indicated that all victims sustained significant injuries caused by a sharp object, though the police are currently awaiting official post-mortem results to confirm the exact cause of death for each individual.

Yahaya noted that the suspect had only recently relocated his family back to the ancestral home a month ago after resigning from a position in Selangor.

Having only started a new job in the district a week prior to the incident, the man’s sudden descent into violence remains a mystery to investigators.

The motive for the attack is still under investigation, with police exploring various possibilities including severe financial distress or domestic disputes.

Despite the extreme nature of the crime, early checks have yielded no prior records of mental health issues associated with the perpetrator.

The case is currently being handled under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder. - February 17, 2026
