
The 2026 Unity Week will be celebrated across six zones from April to June, featuring cultural events and activities to strengthen national harmony.
PUTRAJAYA: The 2026 Unity Week (SMP) will be held across six zones nationwide from April to June. The programme aims to promote unity and enhance public understanding of Malaysia’s cultural diversity.
National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang said this marks the fourth edition of the programme. It carries the theme ‘Bersama Membina Negara Bangsa’.
“SMP is not just a signature event of the Ministry of National Unity (KPN), but a vital platform to strengthen harmony and ensure the continued peace of the nation,” he said in a statement.
He added that a strong sense of unity serves as the main pillar in maintaining the stability and prosperity of Malaysia MADANI.
The celebrations will begin in the East Zone from April 9 to 11 at AEON Mall Kota Bharu. The North Zone event follows from April 23 to 26 at Indera Mulia Stadium, Ipoh.
Subsequent events will take place in the Sarawak Zone from May 8 to 10 at Boulevard Shopping Mall Miri. The South Zone event is scheduled for the same dates at Dataran Memorial Pengisytiharan Kemerdekaan in Melaka.
For the Central Zone, the programme is scheduled from May 15 to 17 at the National Museum in Kuala Lumpur. The national-level celebration will be held from June 11 to 14 at the grounds of Likas Stadium, Kota Kinabalu.
The opening ceremony is expected to be launched by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on June 13. A wide range of activities will be offered to visitors of all ages.
These include a people’s sports competition, exhibitions, a Unity Run, and cross-cultural performances. Sales of community economy products under Rukun Tetangga will also be featured.
