Kota Kinabalu: Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) has come a long way as a flourishing centre of excellence in innovation and intellectual property since its inception in 1994.
To date, the university has 223 intellectual property consisting various components of intellectual property rights.
“Since the university’s founding years, research efforts and innovation by UMS have been growing rapidly. This is the result of the consistent endeavours of the university’s top management which was buttressed by all quarters and active involvement of researchers and lecturers.
“And now UMS has reached 28 years, which is relatively young by global standards, however the courage, spirit and determination by the University in facing the rapid growth of technology and science is beginning to show signs of maturity in each passing year.”
