BELURAN: A 25-year-old female teacher died while three of her students were injured in a road crash involving two vehicles along Jalan Pamol Sapi Nangoh here today.
The 12.23pm accident involved a Toyota Hilux and a Perodua Aruz carrying a total of eight people.
Beluran Fire and Rescue Station chief PPgB NurAzlan Shah Jamalludin said the team arrived at the scene at about 1.58pm after travelling 104km from the station, adding that four occupants of the Toyota Hilux sustained minor injuries and did not require further treatment.
The Perodua Aruz was occupied by the teacher and three female students from Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Sungai-Sungai, who were reportedly travelling to the Beluran Education Office to attend the Kem Literasi Jawi, while the victims received initial treatment before being taken to Nangoh Health Clinic and later referred to Duchess of Kent Hospital.
NurAzlan said no rescue operation was required as all eight occupants had been extricated from the vehicles by members of the public before the team arrived, while the team monitored the scene and gathered information before ensuring the area was safe and under control.
