SHAH ALAM, July 10 — Some 226 participants took part in the Usahanita Digital incentive programme for young women entrepreneurs held from April 10 to June 28.

State executive councillor for women’s development and social welfare Anfaal Saari said the programme, organised by Wanita Berdaya Selangor (WBS), aims to boost women’s entrepreneurship in Selangor by helping them expand their businesses in line with current trends.

“During that period, each participant received training, guidance, and comprehensive exposure in areas such as digital marketing, website content creation, and advanced basic skills in digital business management.

“The programme attracted 226 participants, and from that number, selections were made and divided into five phases, leading to 10 finalists who advanced to the final stage and received the Usahanita Digital Icon award,” she said.

Anfaal was speaking at a press conference after officiating the 2025 Usahanita Digital Icon awards ceremony at Dewan Jubli Perak Sultan Abdul Aziz today.

Through the event, she noted that the 10 finalists were primarily young female entrepreneurs from diverse business backgrounds, including food, early childhood education, beauty spas, handicrafts, technology, and pet care products.

The evaluation process was conducted by a panel of professionals from agencies, including the Selangor Information Technology and Digital Economy Corporation (Sidec), the Selangor Platform (PLATS), Yayasan Hijrah, Yayasan Wakaf Khadijah, and Appengage.

“We believe programmes like this will continue to catalyse building a more progressive, innovative, and self-reliant community of young women entrepreneurs in the digital era.

“WBS remains committed to expanding opportunities and spaces for Selangor’s women to contribute directly to the state and national economy,” Anfaal said.
