Well, it seems that in the world of politics, even the most mundane items can become instruments of power.

Who would've thought that toilet paper could be the key to a successful presidential bid?

Terry Gou must have realized the undeniable allure of those soft, fluffy rolls.

I can already imagine the campaign slogans: "Terry Gou, wiping away the competition," or "Vote for Gou, and we'll make sure your future is as smooth as our toilet paper."

But let's not flush away the seriousness of the situation. Offering toilet paper in exchange for signatures? That's a bold move. It's like saying, “I'll wipe away your problems if you sign on the dotted line.”

And the fact that there are laws against such bribery in Taiwan just adds to the absurdity. A potential seven-year jail term and a fine of up to TW$10 million for toilet paper?

It makes you wonder if there's a black market for luxury TP in the world of politics.

But let's not forget the international implications. In China, Foxconn is under investigation while Gou tries to secure his presidential bid with toilet paper.

It's like a toilet paper rollercoaster of drama that rivals any soap opera.

Who knew that in the developing world, the humble roll of toilet paper could hold such sway over politics?

I guess using toilet paper as a strategy in the states controlled by PN on Peninsular Malaysia may not be popular with Moslem voters who prefer to clean themselves with water.

In the end, Terry Gou's campaign might not be "soft" on issues, but it sure knows how to "roll" with the times.

Let's hope the upcoming elections aren't as "bogged down" with toilet paper shenanigans, and the people of Taiwan or anywhere else on earth can make a clean choice for their future.
