UST ends 2-game skid, turns back FEU

MANILA, Philippines -- The University of Santo Tomas ended a 2-game skid after turning back Far Eastern University, 81-69, in the UAAP Season 89 men's basketball tournament at the Smart Araneta Coliseum Wednesday.

Down by 15 points in the first half, the Growling Tigers growled with a 29-9 third quarter to turn the game against the Tamaraws into a close contest.

Close at 69-all until UST went on a 12-0 finishing kick to take the win and halt FEU's win run in four games.

The Tigers improved to 3-3 to tie the De La Salle Green Archers and the Ateneo Blue Eagles from fifth to seventh places.

The Tamaraws dropped to 4-2 to lose hold of the solo lead and share it now with the National University Bulldogs.
