Liverpool hero Jamie Carragher says Mesut Ozil deserves a place in Arsenal's starting XI after his performance in the thrilling 10-goal Carabao Cup defeat at Anfield.
While Ozil was "playing out of his skin", Unai Emery decided to bring him off just 11 minutes after notching the assist, much to the surprise and disappointment of many Arsenal fans.
Carragher said: "Ozil looked a class above. I'm not Ozil's biggest fan, but you can't tell me shouldn't be in Arsenal's team. It's not a great Arsenal team.
"You look at that front three, I am sure they would love to have Ozil feeding them in. I still think he's in Arsenal's best 11.
"He should run the game. He was really good. His role in both goals were fantastic. He did show his class. That composure. A lot of the goals in the first half were mistakes. His involvement in the goals was what stood out."
