SANDAKAN: A mobile clinic team from the district Health Clinic brought measles and rubella (MR) vaccines directly to Kampung Sim-Sim recently to ensure no child misses out on immunisation.
The programme, held in conjunction with the nationwide Measles-Rubella Supplementary Immunisation Activity (MR SIA) campaign, targeted children aged between six and 59 months who have not received MR/MMR/single measles vaccines or have yet to complete the national immunisation schedule.
Sandakan Parliamentary Coordinator cum Sandakan Municipal Councillor, Tang Szu Ching, joined the team in administering the vaccines to eligible children.

“For the sake of our children’s health, health workers took the initiative to deliver vaccines directly to homes to ensure every child receives the protection they need.
“I am very grateful to the medical staff of Sandakan Health Clinic for their hard work and dedication in serving the community,” she said.
The effort was welcomed by local residents, who appreciated the authorities’ commitment to safeguarding the health of the younger generation.
Complete immunisation is vital to protect children from life-threatening infectious diseases, and parents are urged to ensure their children receive vaccinations according to schedule.
