Valencia CF women’s coach Fernando Martin and three of his children died after a boat capsized near Labuan Bajo, Indonesian authorities confirm

VALENCIA CF women’s coach Fernando Martin has died alongside three of his children after a boat capsized in Indonesia.

The Spanish club confirmed the tragic accident, which occurred in the Padar Island Strait near the popular tourist destination of Labuan Bajo.

Indonesian search and rescue authorities said the boat carrying 11 people sank in extreme weather on Friday.

The search for the victims continued on Sunday morning, according to mission coordinator Fathur Rahman.

Martin’s wife and one daughter were rescued, along with four crew members and a tour guide.

The 44-year-old former player was appointed coach of the Valencia Women’s B team earlier this year.

Real Madrid CF also sent its condolences following the tragic news.
