Caracas residents in fear, are buying groceries and getting ready as uncertainty grows in Venezuela after its president Nicolás Maduro was captured by the US, as President Donald Trump announced.

In the capital Caracas, many rushed to shops to buy groceries to make sure their homes are packed as uncertainty grows.

Long queues formed outside markets and pharmacies, while some people prepared to leave the city.

Police vehicles and armed officers were visible in parts of the capital as daily life continued amid heightened tension.
