Vice Ganda honored to host Eurovision selections, Carmelle is PH bet

MANILA, Philippines — TV host and actor Vice Ganda on Tuesday said it was a huge honor to host the country’s Philippine Selection Night for the Eurovision Song Contest Asia.

Vice hosted the 10-song Philippine Selection Night, which saw Carmelle Collado winning the right to represent the Philippines in the Eurovision Song Contest Asia in November, with her dance track “Sobra-Sobra”.

His co-hosts on Sunday night were Alexa Ilacad and Darren Espanto, with the event broadcast by ABS-CBN.

“It was such an honor to host the first-ever Eurovision Asia Philippine Selection Night! I was amazed to witness the unkabogable talent of our Filipino artists, and I’m even more excited to see it being showcased on the global stage!” Vice Ganda wrote on his social media handles.

Carmelle, alongside Bhutan’s Nyendra and Malaysia’s Aina Abdul, are the only entrants in the 11-country contest. South Korea is set to select its entrant on Friday.

“I’m really happy and grateful to all my fans. Thank you so much for supporting me and for all your votes,” Carmelle said in a reel posted by Star Music.

The Eurovision Song Contest Asia will be held in Bangkok, Thailand on Nov. 14.
