Vice Ganda is expanding his entertainment ventures through a new partnership with MediaQuest Holdings, with the comedian-host set to develop projects and content across TV5 and the media group’s various platforms.
The partnership brings together one of the country’s most recognized entertainment personalities and a major media group with interests spanning television, pay TV, digital platforms and other media properties.
Vice Ganda said the partnership is not limited to TV5, despite the initial discussions focusing on a possible TV project with the network. He is expected to create content for TV5 while also exploring opportunities across the wider MediaQuest ecosystem.
“There are projects we will be doing with TV5. Aside from that, it’s MediaQuest because this is a media partnership. It’s not just with TV5,” Vice Ganda explained.
The comedian-host said the agreement had been years in the making. He said the negotiations eventually progressed because both sides were able to openly discuss their concerns, expectations and goals.
“We were very honest with each other. They allowed me to be honest with them, and they were very honest with me. I raised some questions, and they gave me answers and explained things to me. We had very open communication,” Vice Ganda said.
More importantly, Vice Ganda said he and MediaQuest found common ground in their desire to extend the life of traditional TV in the Philippines, particularly as audiences increasingly consume content through digital and streaming platforms.
“We have the same goal. Our goal is to extend the era of TV, especially in the Philippines. We can only do that if the people involved collaborate and bring together our different capabilities,” he said.
A joining of strengthsVice Ganda recalled how MediaQuest Chairman Manny V. Pangilinan framed the partnership as an opportunity to combine their respective strengths rather than continue competing with one another.
“As MVP told me, ‘you have what I don’t have, and I have what you don’t have. So why not unite?’ he said.
Vice Ganda added that the same spirit of collaboration could benefit the broader Philippine entertainment industry, where ABS-CBN, GMA Network, TV5 and streaming platforms can contribute different strengths.
Pangilinan expressed a similar view during the partnership ceremony, saying Vice Ganda brings capabilities and an audience that MediaQuest can complement through its various platforms.
“Various platforms that we can build the scale and the reach that is beyond any of the TV networks. So we offer something with you, something that is bigger and better and different for Filipino media and entertainment,” Pangilinan said.
For Vice Ganda, the collaboration is also significant because he intends to continue his relationship with ABS-CBN, which he described as a non-negotiable part of his career.
“I will never leave ABS. Wherever I go, if I have a project with GMA or a project with TV5, ABS will always be with me,” he pointed out.
He said the partnership with MediaQuest should ultimately benefit all the parties involved, rather than be viewed as distancing from his existing relationships.
“We want that even after the contract ends, everyone will still have a good relationship and be happy. I want it to be a win-win. That’s why I decided, OK, let’s do this. It’s going to be a big win for me, for TV5, for MediaQuest, for ABS and for everyone that I will be sharing this win with,” he said.
While details remain under wraps, Vice Ganda said he already has concepts in mind and is working with the team on the schedule. A TV5 project is targeted to begin before the end of the year, although the exact launch date has yet to be finalized.
During the signing, Pangilinan also gave Vice Ganda a new distinction, declaring him the “Queen of All Networks” in recognition of his career, brand and broad audience reach.
“You have built an exceptional career with your exceptional talents. So on your own, you built a distinctive brand, an audience that is not only nationwide but goes beyond the shores of the Philippines, which is a career that very few can really see and match. This event completes the elevation of Vice Ganda to the title, Queen of All Networks,” Pangilinan said.
Vice Ganda admitted that while such titles do not change how he works, being recognized in that way remains meaningful.
“It’s extremely flattering because, of course, it validates what I have done and my body of work. Someone has noticed what I have given and appreciates it. When they give you a title like that, it’s exciting,” he said.
For now, Vice Ganda said his focus remains on creating more content, doing movies and television projects, and continuing to enjoy the career he has built.
“I just want to continue enjoying the things that I have been doing. I just want to continue creating content, doing movies and doing TV. I just want to be happy and enjoy life. Life is already good, and my only wish is to continue,” Vice Ganda concluded.
