ENTERTAINMENT icon and Far Eastern University (FEU) alumnus Vice Ganda made an electrifying performance at the star-studded UAAP Season 89 opening ceremony at the Mall of Asia Arena Saturday.
Before her final act, singing "All I Do Is Win," Vice took a moment to share his humble beginnings at FEU before challenging Gen Z to fight for a better society.
“So my challenge to you is this: fight to win a society that will give you a decent life and the freedom to succeed," said Vice.
"That will only happen if you elect leaders who will not steal from you and drown your homes and hopes in floodwaters. So, Gen Zs, I challenge you to fight, show up, and win no matter what.”
Speaking to reporters after the star-studded production show that also saw the performances of Baby Dolls, Echarri, Maki, Darren Espanto, as well as Bini members Mika and Maloi with him, Vice explained why he decided to impart such message.
The celebrity host found it the perfect time to deliver his message.
"I felt that it was the perfect moment to do it, perfect target audience, listeners, location, so I didn't want to waste the chance," said Vice.
"As you said I was a PolSci student so I'd shown them a glimpse of what we studied at FEU. I really didn't want to waste the chance because they are our target audience, those who we want to inspire with what we can say and for the change we want to see in our country.” NIEL VICTOR MASOY
