
KUNAK: The victim of a crocodile attack on Monday was found, Tuesday, the second day of search and rescue (SAR) operation.
Kunak Fire and Rescue Department Chief Mohammad Omarbatha said Ridwan Nawir, in his 50s, was reportedly attacked by the reptile around 11am.
Firemen resumed SAR operations on the second day at 7.10am led by PBKII Rosman Gari with the water surface method together with other agencies, including police, the Wildlife Department and locals along the river where the victim was mauled.
“The victim was found by members of the public and the rescue team at 9.41am Tuesday, about 600 meters from where the victim was attacked,” he said.

On Monday, Kunak Fire and Rescue received an emergency call via the station line at 11.18am regarding a missing man believed mauled by a crocodile while netting for fish near the KLK Jatika Farm along Jalan Kunak - Semporna.
