PUTATAN: Over 100 villagers from Kampung Muhibbah Lama have voiced strong opposition to a 12-storey condominium project, citing concerns over flooding, traffic congestion, and lack of consultation.

Residents claim they were only recently issued eviction notices despite having lived on the privately owned site since the 1970s, with five homes directly affected and many more potentially impacted.

Sharif Aeman Azahari, 25, said the developer, believed to be Sarawak-based, began land clearing last month without compensation or alternative housing offered to affected families.

Umno Putatan Chief Jeffrey Nor, who attended the peaceful protest, said he is seeking legal advice as residents prepare to submit a formal objection to local authorities and the Chief Minister.
