MANILA, Philippines — Businessman Vincent Co attended a major retail convention in Pasay City on May 14, the same date he and actress Bea Alonzo were rumored to be getting married in Spain.
The businessman’s appearance came amid speculation surrounding the couple’s reportedly canceled wedding plans. Earlier reports claimed Co and Alonzo were set to exchange vows in Spain on May 14, although neither camp has confirmed the date or the ceremony itself.
Co was seen attending the opening day of the 2026 Tindahan Ni Aling Puring (TNAP) Sari-Sari Store Convention at the World Trade Center in Pasay City together with his father, retail tycoon Lucio Co. The annual event, hosted by Puregold, runs until May 16 and features thousands of sari-sari store owners and business partners from around the country.
Photos from the convention were shared online by President of NET25 Ceasar Vallejos, who also posted a message commending the company’s efforts in supporting micro, small and medium enterprises.
“At the heart of Puregold is a mission that deeply resonates with us at Open For Business: to help empower MSMEs, especially the sari-sari store owners who continue to serve communities across the country,” Vallejos wrote on Facebook.
“I am extremely grateful to Vincent and the family patriarch for allowing us to feature the massive impact and potential of the sari-sari store market in the Philippines at the Puregold Sari-Sari Store Convention 2026,” he added.
Special guests and performers during the first day of the convention included Kathryn Bernardo, Kyline Alcantara and Angeline Quinto.
The convention also became a talking point online after some attendees noted the apparent absence of media coverage compared with previous Tindahan Ni Aling Puring events.
Meanwhile, social media users continued monitoring developments involving Co and Alonzo after recent reports claimed their rumored wedding plans in Spain had allegedly faced complications tied to a prenuptial agreement and family-related concerns. None of the claims have been independently verified.
In recent days, posts showing members of Alonzo’s family and close friend Dimples Romana in Spain further fueled speculation that preparations for the reported ceremony were still ongoing.
As of posting, both Co and Alonzo remained silent on the status of their rumored wedding plans.
