PENAMPANG: Police have confirmed that a viral crocodile video circulating on social media was recorded near a licensed crocodile farm and does not pose a threat to public safety.
Penampang District Police Chief Supt Sammy Newton said inspections were carried out at a crocodile farm following reports of the one-minute video.
He said the farm operates legally and holds valid breeding and meat trading licences issued by the Sabah Wildlife Department.
“The inspection found that the farm is operating lawfully with all required licences,” he said in a statement.
He advised the public not to spread speculation that could cause unnecessary public concern and to share only accurate and responsible information, adding that police remain committed to maintaining public safety and order.
