The netizen who posted the photos claimed that the man closely resembled “Sister Hong” and appeared to be openly dressed in women’s clothing.

The person also joked about whether his “old customers” would still recognise him and speculated that he had moved to Guangzhou.

However, it has not been confirmed if the person in the photos is indeed “Sister Hong”.

The sighting has since sparked discussion online, with some netizens questioning whether he had already been released and others making jokes referencing the viral scandal.

‘Nanjing Sister Hong’ went viral last year

The case first went viral in July last year, when a 38 year old man surnamed Jiao was accused of disguising himself as a woman and meeting multiple men.

He reportedly used the name “Ah Hong” and wore a wig and heavy makeup to present himself as a middle aged woman.

According to earlier reports, he would arrange for men to visit a rented residence and allegedly asked them to bring items such as milk, watermelon and cooking oil as gifts.

Hidden cameras were also allegedly placed inside the unit to record the meetings and sexual encounters without the men’s knowledge.

Nanjing police later confirmed that Jiao had disguised himself as a woman and had sexual relations with multiple men.

Police said the number of people involved was in the dozens.

The case became one of the most talked about viral stories in China at the time, with phrases such as “Nanjing Sister Hong” and “since you’re already here” becoming widely circulated online.
