Kota Kinabalu: The public need not worry over a viral video supposedly showing a snatch theft incident at a jewellery shop in town here on Sunday.
The three-minute video shows a hooded man in red who grabbed a woman’s purchase and made a run for it.
City Police Deputy Chief Supt Kalsom Idris said the shop owner was contacted to confirm the incident.
“They said it was just an act, a prank, as an awareness initiative for potential victims.

Kalsom advised the public not to spread false information with the video and not to believe everything on social media without verification.
