Vitarich: 2025 profit up 34% at P290.4M

LISTED poultry producer Vitarich Corp.’s net income grew 34 percent to P290.4 million last year as operational improvements boosted profitability despite a challenging business environment.

In a statement on Monday, the company said that President and CEO Ricardo Manuel Sarmiento had described the past year as a turning point as the company sought to strengthen both its financial performance and long-term direction.

“The past year was more than just another year of operations. It was an opportunity for us to reassess where the company is headed and ensure that our decisions today will allow us to create long-term value,” Sarmiento said during the company’s annual stockholders’ meeting last June 26.

Vitarich posted consolidated revenues of P12.35 billion last year while cash and cash equivalents climbed to P841.9 million. Total equity likewise expanded to P2.51 billion.

Sarmiento said the company intended to deepen its role in the country’s agricultural sector by supporting farmers and entrepreneurs while improving the food supply chain.

“Our goal is to build a business that remains financially sound while helping strengthen Philippine agriculture. We want to create opportunities for Filipino ‘agripreneurs’ and contribute to a more resilient food supply chain,” he said.

Sarmiento added that sustainability had become a greater consideration in the company’s day-to-day operations, from sourcing raw materials to governance and risk management.

The company said 2025 was “a year of organizational renewal marked by stronger profitability, disciplined execution, and a clearer focus on long-term success.”

“Guided by its renewed mission and vision, the company undertook an organizational realignment aimed at enhancing cohesion across the business, sharpening corporate direction, and positioning Vitarich as a deliberate, long-term leader in shaping the future of Philippine agribusiness,” it added.

At the annual meeting, shareholders approved an amendment to Vitarich’s articles of incorporation expanding the board membership to 10 directors from nine, with Isabella Victoria Sarmiento elected as a new director.

Shareholders also ratified the actions of the board and management, confirmed the appointment of the external auditor, and approved the appointment of the company’s stock transfer agent.

Vitarich shares closed unchanged at P0.48 each on Monday.
